I am a year out architecture student. Currently working as an architectural assistant.
I move around the space with no purpose, and try to not think of anything. Wandering. Stand still and observe what's surrounding me. By keep looking at something for some time I m able to see what I don't used to see normally, which are the senses of being an occupant, in relation to my surroundings. Every little details become prominent when u are the only occupant in the whole building. Through means of recording the space, I let the space define itself and become something meaningful to me.
I think constraints should be given to participants so to allow more variations and possibilities out of the activity. Maybe several participants could form a group, encourage their interactions and discussion.
I hope visitors could bring along with them some scrap papers and a graphite pencil, to jot down anything they find interesting, to familiarize themselves with the surroundings, through all senses, to record their journey by physically engaging in sketching, in a way you literally touch something you are unsure about.
